Education for Teens
Dr. Allen Berger started the Teens for Literacy® program in 1987 at Miami University in Ohio. Teens for Literacy® is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The program encourages inner-city students to promote literacy in their own school or community actively.
Direct Activities
Teams of eight to ten students at each school design and participate directly in activities such as tutoring, reading aloud, reading contests, videotaping, creating displays, writing and performing plays, and forming book clubs.
These activities are carried out under the direction of dedicated teachers and University liaisons.
